This has been a very quiet month, weatherwise. The temperature has not ventured more than seven degrees cooler or warmer than normal all month. Until perhaps today. The high pressure system that's given us the cool, dry weather all week has moved offshore and the winds have started coming out of the southwest. That should warm the city up into the low 90s this afternoon for the start of the holiday weekend. A cold front will pass through the region this evening, giving us some gusty winds and maybe a few clouds.

September will get off to an awesome start as a fresh air mass arrives behind tonight's front. Look for mostly sunny skies tomorrow and a high temperature in the mid 80s.

Air of a more tropical nature will arrive on Sunday. It's not a very warm air mass, Sunday's high will be about 80 degrees, but we'll feel the humidity. There's a slight chance of showers later on Sunday as a new cold front approaches from the north. Muggy conditions and at least some chance of showers will continue on Labor Day and on into early next week.
