Heads up! That's a 6-by-4 feet chunk of ice falling 1,776 feet from One World Trade Center this morning. #yikes pic.twitter.com/IbBgfXWpWH

Ice chunks the size of softballs—or bigger (see above!)— have been sloughing off the side of 1 WTC tower this morning, forcing the partial closure of the West Side Highway during rush hour and igniting Instagram with whiny traffic photos.

Holy duck and cover batman. The freedom tower is throwing ice like it has a vendetta against lower Manhattan.

According to the Office of Emergency Management, southbound lanes of West Street were closed from Canal Street to the Battery Park Underpass. Northbound lanes were closed from the Battery Park Underpass to Murray Street.
Twitter users are eager to blame the falling ice chunks on architectural flaws, but frankly, it's just the latest instance of unwanted icy bullshit falling out of the sky. Enough already.
#Ice chunks falling off the #freedomtower again. Entire #WorldTradeCenter area blocked off. #readyforspring
