A 5,000 pound tree pinned a Long Island woman in her bed for two hours after it came crashing through her bedroom window early Monday.
The 20-year-old Great Neck woman was sleeping around 12:30 a.m. when the tree fell into her second-story bedroom, NBC New York reports.
Emergency workers used hydraulic lifts to pull the tree from the house. The unidentified woman was taken to North Shore Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
It's unclear what caused the tree to fall, though officials contend it wasn't the weather, which was mild at the time.
Firefighters at the scene said the tree also took down several live wires, cutting power to surrounding homes.
