The police are hoping the public can help them find a person who is accused of an attack in lower Manhattan last month.

According to the NYPD, the incident occurred at around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7 in an apartment at 160 Madison Street: A 22-year-old man was sleeping "when he awoke to the suspect striking him in the head with a hammer."

The victim tried to flee the apartment, but then the suspect "struck the victim again both on the head and his arm." The suspect fled the apartment, and the victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

Police released a photograph of the suspect. Anyone with information in regards to this assault is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
