An 18-year-old longboarder died after colliding with a Parks Department truck driver at the foot of a hill on the edge of Forest Park in Queens on Sunday afternoon, police said. The teen was riding down the winding downhill of Forest Park Drive at around 1:30 p.m. and lost control at the intersection with Park Lane South, on the park's Woodhaven border, running into the work truck as it crossed the intersection, according to the NYPD.

"I saw blood all over the ground but no wrecked cars and it freaked me out because I’ve almost been hit at that intersection before," one unidentified youth told the Daily News.

Paramedics drove the skateboarder to Jamaica Hospital, and doctors there pronounced him dead. The truck's driver remained on the scene and has not been charged, though officers are still investigating. Police are withholding the victim's name until his family has been notified.
