Early yesterday morning, two plainclothes police officers were fired upon at a Queens housing project. Now investigators have released video of people they'd like to question.
According to the NYPD, the cops were patrolling the Redfern Houses in Far Rockaway when "they observed six males standing in front of 14-30 Redfern Ave." Deciding to investigate further, they parked their car across the street and headed to14-20 Redfern Avenue to access the building's roof. But, police say, when they were walking across the street, a male in a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt on the sidewalk "displayed a firearm and discharged the weapon three times in the direction of the officers, before fleeing on foot to an unknown location."
The cops didn't return fire and called for back-up. One officer was treated for tinnitus at Long Island Jewish Hospital, while the other was treated for back spasms and a bruised knee. Police have not found the firearm, but did find 9mm shell casings and released this video of those they'd like to question:
