Police say they have arrested the man suspected of firing into a Bronx street. Luis Moore, 23, is accused of shooting a 2-year-old girl in the head and a 20-year-old man in the back, as well as grazing a 6-year-old girl in the neck. Apparently the 20-year-old may have been Moore's intended target—the Post reports that he was allegedly "targeting a rival over an unpaid $400 loan to buy marijuana."
After police released his photograph yesterday, Moore turned himself in. Witnesses say the suspect opened fire at a crowd just before 7:45 p.m. on Sunday at East 181st Street near Daly Avenue where many people had gathered to enjoy the evening. The 20-year-old man who was shot is Ricky Rodriguez, who the News says has "at least two prior arrests for criminal possession of a weapon and menacing."
Little Patience Boyd, 2, was shot in the temple and is currently at New York-Prebyterian Hospital Columbia. A source told the Daily News, "[The bullet] went through everything important," and her uncle said, "She's alive, but covered in tubes," adding that his sister is "destroyed right now. It's your worst nightmare. They are stupid young people. They don't care who they hurt. The innocent pay."
