Charles McKinley, who was arrested after he shipped himself in a crate, from NY to Dallas to avoid paying airfare, has been sentenced. He has been fined "$1,500 Wednesday and sentenced to 120 days of house arrest." The Reuters story also includes critical information: McKinley, at 5'8", fit himself into a box that was 42" high, 36" wide, and 15" deep; the delivery man thought he'd delivered a corpse to McKinley's parents house when he saw McKinley's eyes. And this was for TWO days of travel.
Airfare from NY to Dallas this weekend is about $360 on Expedia which means McKinley could have made four roundtrip visits to his parents. But there's nothing like livin' and learnin'.
