The NY Times raised a few eyebrows this morning when it published a short Metropolitan Diary about stationary biking at a Citi Bike dock: "The “biker” responded, 'Laugh if you want, but I never have to pay for a spin class again.'" It seems that the NY Times inadvertently stumbled upon a hot new trend that's been going on as long as Citi Bike has been available—the New Yorker even predicted it on a cover earlier this month. Check out some photos and videos of some of these emboldened spinners.

Some kids were even encouraged to try this out at one of the first Citi Bike stations, as EV Grieve noticed:

If you want to take advantage of the free spin classes, you better get on it soon—it's only a matter of time before capitalism gets in the way of free fitness.
