The U.S. Coast Guard, NJ State Police, NYPD, FDNY and other agencies have been looking for a 40-foot fishing boat after it capsized yesterday afternoon in the Sandy Hook Channel. Divers have resumed searching this morning.
According to a Coast Guard press release, they were "notified that a 40-foot steel fishing trawler had begun taking on water at 4:30 p.m. and sank shortly after. Coast Guard Station Sandy Hook launched two rescue boatcrews to search for the sunken vessel." The NYPD conducted a "side scan sonar search to get a definitive location of the sunken vessel."
