The driver of a mini school bus ran into a woman walking in a Brooklyn crosswalk, knocking her unconscious just before 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. According to the NYPD, the unidentified woman was struck at the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Avenue M.

Emergency responders found her lying unconscious moments later, and rushed her to Kings County Hospital where ABC reports she is still recovering.

Witnesses remarked to ABC that the woman was partially wedged under the bus's front wheel after the collision. "We literally heard like 'boom!' That's why we all ran out," Diana Riger told the news network, which reports that the driver and a female passenger from the bus both tried to help the woman in the moments after the crash.

A police spokesperson confirmed the bus driver remained at the scene following the collision, and no charges or summons have been issued. Earlier this month, a school teacher was killed after being struck by a school bus and an SUV at an intersection in Brooklyn.
