A Canadian man was attacked and robbed early yesterday morning in his Manhattan hotel room. The trio of allegedly armed male robbers used the cord of a hair dryer to choke him during the struggle, police say.
The victim, 31, had reportedly befriended one of the suspects and, per AMNY, "invited one of the men back to his room" at Hotel 309 on West 14th Street.
According to the Daily News, "He got a call early Monday from one of the suspects, asking to come to his room. When [he] opened the door, three men forced their way in, sources said. They pistol-whipped and beat him, and one used the cord to choke [him], forcing him to reveal the code to his room safe."
The robbers reportedly took $12,000, "David Yurman designer rings and necklaces, a cell phone, a laptop and credit cards."
The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
