With Hurricane Jose continuing on its path north, government agencies are warning those heading to the beach to be extremely cautious.

Though the allure of high waves is tempting, the National Weather Service tweeted, "Be careful if you're heading to the beach on Sunday - there is a high risk of rip currents at all ocean beaches. Highest waves east."

Weather.com called the conditions "life-threatening" in some parts.

Suffolk County issued a high surf advisory. On Saturday, a man drowned at Coopers Beach in Southampton Village.
