After flipping off some folks at a mixed martial arts event in Miami—and being caught doing so on camera—Jets coach Rex Ryan was fined $50,000 by the team. According to the Daily News, "The size of the fine shows that the organization was embarrassed and upset by Ryan's behavior."

The News also adds, "The NFL also is reviewing the matter under its personal conduct policy, but since Ryan already has been disciplined by the Jets, an additional fine by the league appears unlikely." A Post source says, "This is not double-jeopardy. If a [team] imposes discipline on the employee, then [the league] doesn't usually do it."

The Miami resident who took the cellphone picture, David Hildenbrand, told the Post that his friends raised Ryan's ire when they "said some things like, 'Dolphins rule, Jets suck.' [Ryan] looked at us and said, 'Go f--- yourselves,' and then he gave us the finger." Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis wasn't surprised that his coach would stand up for Gang Green, "He's one of those guys who if you come at me, I'm coming at you. It was all in fun. They were probably yelling and talking stuff at him and it ticked him off. Fans can be like that." Aw, come on—can't everyone just stuff their faces and make up?
