Today we're taking a look back today at some of our coverage of Hurricane Sandy last year. Here we have heartbreaking photos from around The Rockaways in the wake of the storm. This area was one of the hardest-hit by the hurricane, and local residents were some of the most vocal in their criticism of the city and FEMA's response. One year later, rebuilding is still underway, and today Mayor Bloomberg visited the area to highlight the city-funded Rockaway Tidal Gate Installation Project, which will ultimately install twenty-five tidal gates by end of 2015 to prevent flooding.
