By now you've surely seen the video of a Rand Paul volunteer grinding his foot into a prone protester on the ground. (If not, we've serviceably embedded it below.) It turns out the protester, one Lauren Valle, is a Columbia University graduate who called NYC home for five years. She's gotten a lot of attention for the abuse she took in Kentucky Monday night, but Tim Profitt, the stomper in question, says she owes him an apology... for getting in the way of his nice sneakers? Hey, it worked for Dick Cheney when that idiot's face got in the way of his gun!

Yes, it's pretty tame as far as stomps go, but still a dick move. Valle was trying to get a photo taken with Paul while holding a satirical sign saying "Employee of the Month" (from RepubliCorp, a fake business created by MoveOn). "What happened was when they realized that I was there, they actually formed a circle behind me and then as the car pulled up, before Rand was even out of the car," Valle tells CBS. "So I stepped off the curb and around them. And then they actually pursued me around the car. This was premeditated." Alex Giblin, a 24-year-old volunteer with MoveOn, tells the Daily News he heard one of Paul's supporters say, "We might have to take someone down."

Profitt, who was dismissed from the Paul campaign yesterday, says he was merely concerned for Paul's safety, and tells WKYT, "I don't think it's that big of a deal. I would like for her to apologize to me to be honest with you... I put my foot on her, and I did push her down at the very end, and I told her to stay down. I actually put my foot on her to—I couldn't bend over because I have issues with my back." Way to go libtards—scare an old man half to death and make him nearly throw his back out. Maybe next time throw yourself under some old lady's cane? And now Profitt's in legal trouble, too; Kentucky police are serving him with a summons to appear in court, where a judge will determine whether to proceed with an assault case.
