A teenager accidentally drove an SUV into his grandmother in their Queens driveway on Sunday morning, which proved fatal.

The 17-year-old was moving the SUV to make it easier for his grandparents to get in as they prepared to head to church, the Daily News reported. The grandmother, Chandravti Lakhan, 75, walked behind the Toyota Sequoia outside the family's Floral Park house at around 10:30 a.m., just as the grandson was hitting the gas to back up into the driveway, police said.

Paramedics rushed Lakhan to North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital, and doctors there pronounced her dead.

The driver reportedly lived in the house on 267th street near 83rd Avenue, and the Nassau County border, with his parents and grandparents.

Neighbors told the Associated Press Lakhan was "extremely friendly."

Police have not charged the grandson thus far.
