A Queens mom has been charged with murder after she allegedly threw her three-week-old baby out the window of her Queens apartment this week.

Rashida Chowdhury, 21, has been charged with second-degree murder and intentional murder of a victim less than 11-years-old. The child, whom the News identifies as Rizwan Ahmad, was found unconscious in a blue and white onesie in the courtyard area of 85-55 115 Street in Richmond Hill around 4 a.m. Friday morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide, saying he was killed by "blunt impact of head and torso with skull fractures and lacerations of (the) liver, brain and spleen."

The child’s father, whom the News says is also named Rizwan Ahmad, was brought in for questioning along with two other adults and two children who were in the apartment around the time the baby was thrown out the window. No one else has been charged.

"I heard the mom is mentally ill," family friend Khan Kamal told the News. "The mom wouldn’t do this unless she was sick in the head."

"The is a truly horrific and disturbing case of a mother accused of killing her helpless infant son," Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown said in a statement. “He fell more than 40 feet to the pavement and died. The alleged actions of the defendant are totally incomprehensible."
