A Queens spa worker who was caught on video attacking another employee was arrested last week. Heping Cheng was charged with felony assault, and his lawyer emphasized it was his first arrest, "He saw the video on a news channel, and immediately turned himself in."

The alleged altercation took place on July 19, when Cheng apparently got into a fight with a male co-worker at a spa at the New World Mall in Flushing and, as the police described it, "became violent and assaulted the victim with a metal travel cup and punched him in the head several times."

Surveillance footage showed the violent outburst:

The dispute reportedly stemmed from Cheng allegedly believing the coworker poached a client. The spa's owner told the Daily News that he took the injured employee to the hospital after the attack and that "the victim threatened to extort Cheng for $30,000 before he went back to China," allegedly telling Cheng, "If you give me money, I won’t call police."

Cheng, who was also charged with harassment and criminal possession of a weapon, is being held on $5,000 bond or $2,500 cash bail.
