A 56-year-old man died early this morning after he fell off his roof in Rockaway and was subsequently impaled by a fence, according to police.
The unidentified man was allegedly attempting to climb onto his roof at Beach 120th Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard at around 2:08 a.m. this morning when he fell and landed in the backyard. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cops say they are unsure whether the victim jumped or merely fell—the Daily News reports that he was intoxicated at the time.
