The NYPD has arrested a man accused of attempting to rape an unconscious woman on the Lower East Side this week.

Police say they arrested Sean Walker, 45, yesterday and charged him with one count of sex abuse, following Wednesday's attempted rape. Walker, who lives in Queens, allegedly approached the unconscious, intoxicated 21-year-old woman near Suffolk and Stanton streets at about 3 a.m.

Police say he took off his pants and underwear and lay on top of her while trying to remove her shorts; a passerby yelled at him, and he then fled.

The victim was treated at Beth Israel Hospital and released.
