A quadriplegic woman was found dead in her Brooklyn apartment Sunday night, with her 2-year-old son wandering around inside the home. According to the NYPD, officers responding to a "wellness check" at an apartment on Clymer Street in Williamsburg discovered 32-year-old Melissa Torres "unconscious and unresponsive in the bathroom... EMS responded to the location and pronounced the female DOA at the scene."

Police sources tell the Post her 2-year-old son was found alone inside the apartment, and that her "41-year-old druggie boyfriend, Angelo Sanchez, later confessed to killing her, saying he was high on crack at the time." The NYPD confirmed last night that Angelo Sanchez, who shared the residence with Torres, has been charged with murder and endangering the welfare of a child. Sources tell the tabloid Sanchez has been arrested dozens of times.

Investigators believe Torres was likely strangled or suffocated. "She could not defend herself,” Torres’s friend, Pessie Gelb, tells the Daily News. And her upstairs neighbor adds, "She was a nice woman. This happened right below me. This makes me scared."
