A 26-year-old Occupy protester has been charged with splattering NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton with red paint during last night's demonstration against a grand jury's refusal to indict police officer Darren Wilson for fatally shooting unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. An NYPD spokesperson says Diego Ibanez was arrested last night around 10:30 p.m. in Times Square after Bratton and his security detail were hit with red paint. Judging by the photos, Ibanez has excellent aim.
Ibanez is charged with assault on a police officer, criminal mischief, obstruction of governmental administration, harassment, and reckless endangerment. Here's a video of Ibanez discussing Occupy Sandy relief efforts in Far Rockaway two years ago:
