Just weeks after hundreds of the park's geese were sent to the gas chamber, 37 more showed up—and now the NY Times reports that currently that number is up to 107! That's the official number declared by locals Anne-Katrin Titze and Ed Bahlman, who hand-counted them Sunday. Back when the park saw its 37 new geese, an "expert" declared that the population wouldn't continue to grow at that rate, but an official at the Humane Society countered that, saying, “the program kills geese, and then more will fly in—as they have in Prospect Park—and then they’ll have to kill more geese."
