Everyone loves the "Office of the President-elect"! President-elect Obama's first press conference landed him on the front pages of the NY Times and NY Post.
Even the Post finds him disarming, singling out how he called himself a mutt. Post D.C. Bureau Chief Charles Hunt writes, "Obama exuded such cool confidence that he pulled off a racial quip that would have fallen flat had a politician of less warmth and charisma attempted it."
However, after some criticism for his quip about Nancy Reagan's seance, Obama apologized. A transition spokeswoman said, "President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan today to apologize for the careless and off-handed remark he made during today’s press conference. The President-elect expressed his admiration and affection for Mrs. Reagan that so many Americans share and they had a warm conversation."
The Daily News focuses on amazing photos of the First Family-elect on Election night--on the cover, it's Malia giving her dad a fist jab! Take that, America. You can see more of those photos in the Barack Obama Election Night Flickr set.
