There are fewer subway changes this weekend than usual, so that's nice, but the MTA is also announcing changes that will last the entire summer. Nothing earth-shattering, but still... transitions can be difficult. Here's what to prepare yourself and your family for (you know, stiff upper lip and all that).

3 and 4 trains are skipping Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions until September. They're in it for the long haul.

Also until September, 4 trains are skipping 103rd Street on the Brooklyn-bound track, as are 6 trains on the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall-bound track.

A trains are skipping Rockaway Boulevard on the Brooklyn-bound track until, you guessed it, September.

Now, for this weekend only:

The 116th Street 6 station will be exit-only from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. To exit the 6, you're going to have to use the 110th Street or 125th Street station instead. From 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, that will be true of the 77th Street 6 station. You'll have to defer to 68th Street or 86th Street.

A trains on the Inwood-bound track will run express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to 125th Street starting at 11:45 p.m. on Friday, and ending at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. Starting Saturday morning at 12:01 a.m., Queens-bound A trains will run local from 168th Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle. They'll switch back to express service at 8:00 p.m.

C trains will run express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to 125th Street on Saturday, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

D trains on the Coney Island-bound track will run local from 145th Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle on Saturday, from 12:01 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

E trains will run local from Queens Plaza to Forest Hills-71st Avenue on Saturday, from 12:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. During the same stretch, all E trains will run local between Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue. Meanwhile, F trains on the Jamaica-bound track will run local between 21st Street-Queensbridge and Forest Hills-71st Avenue, and F trains on the Coney Island-bound track will run local from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue.

Q trains on the Coney Island-bound track will run express from Prospect Park to Kings Highway all weekend long, from 11:15 p.m. on Friday, until 5:00 a.m. on Monday.
