A power outage at LaGuardia airport this morning has delayed incoming flights for hours. LaGuardia? More like LOLGuardia, amirite?

The outage was reported at 4:30 a.m., and has impacted Delta flights into Terminal C, according to the Port Authority. Unsurprisingly, the airport is ranked as the most-disrupted in the U.S. today, with 72 canceled departures as of 9 a.m., according to FlightAware.com, which reports that LaGuardia-bound planes have been delayed at their origin an average of almost three hours this morning.

The power loss is the result of contractors accidentally snipping electrical cables, which affected passenger loading bridges and two parking lots. Power is "being restored" as of 8 a.m. “We hope to resolve this matter as quickly as possible,” Delta spokeswoman Elizabeth Wolf told Bloomberg in an e-mail.

The outage comes just a few days ahead of an announcement about renovations to LaGuardia's Central Terminal Building.

Considering LaGuardia's reputation, most travelers seem to be taking the delays in stride. It is, after all, what they signed up for.
