Last week, it was a two-star review of Eleven Madison Park. A few weeks before, the new restaurant at the new MoMA was appraised. And today, another Danny Meyer restaurant is in the news, but not for the food or decor: The bookkeeper at Gramercy Tavern was arrested for pocketing $250,000. Newsday reports that 26 year-old Sandrene Austin was charged with felonies - second degree grand larceny and falsifying business records. Austin was supposed to enter the receipts from cash, credit card, and gift certificate transactions; apparently she overstated the gift certificate amount, understated the cash amount, and took the difference. While this reminded Gothamist of Whitney employees embezzling over $850,000 from the museum (cash also), we were struck by this sentence:

Neither Austin nor her lawyer, Steve Zissou, could be reached for comment yesterday.

Steve Zissou? Could it be thatSteve Zissou? Well, most likely, since the Steve Zissou who gave permission to Wes Anderson to use his name in the movie is a Queens lawyer.
