Mayor Bloomberg and Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe kicked off the city's public pool season by taking a dip in Marcus Garvey Park. Gothamist thanks Hizzoner and his handlers for deciding he should keep his shirt on. The same cannot be said for Commissioner Benepe.
Newsday reports the mayor would like to go to each of the city's 52 pools but said, "I don't think that's terribly practical because if I start sneaking out during the business day to go and swim, you'll probably write a story that says I'm not doing my job..."
