A Williamsburg man was killed by a police van yesterday just blocks from his home. Police say that 61-year-old Felix Coss was walking north across Broadway at Hooper Street around 4:30 p.m. when a marked police van traveling south on Hooper made a left turn onto Broadway, striking Coss. An NYPD spokesman confirmed that Coss had the crossing signal in his favor, and that the van was not responding to an emergency. The spokesman said that at this time, no criminality is suspected, and that the investigation is ongoing.

Coss, who lived on the 200 block of Hewes Street, was pronounced DOA at Bellevue Hospital.
