Suffolk County police don't think that Shannan Gilbert—whose disappearance led to the discovery of ten bodies on Gilgo State Beach last year—was the victim of the Long Island serial killer. But that doesn't mean her body might still be on the beach (or in its brush), and they are now going to reopen the search for her.

The 24-year-old Gilbert lived in Jersey City but disappeared on May 1, 2010, after going to see a john in Oak Beach. She was last seen running from the man's home. Now, according to a Suffolk police spokeswoman, the Suffolk commissioner has received information from the department's detective division "indicating the 'possibility' that Gilbert may be dead, with her body dumped along the parkway."

So now police are planning to once again search the Gilgo, Cedar and Oak Beach area for Gilbert's body. For now though, they won't say when the searches will take place or discuss any new information they've found.
