The NYPD is hoping the public can help investigators identify a group of five people who were caught on video assaulting homeless men on a Brooklyn sidewalk last month.

The incident took place around 6:45 a.m. on February 23rd in Borough Park. According to the NYPD, the assailants approached a group of homeless men—ages 41, 42, 51, and 61—who were sitting and sleeping in front of 1002 60th Avenue. The group allegedly asked the homeless men "for money, and then began punching, kicking, and throwing objects at the victims." The suspects also managed to take $5 from the 41-year-old victim.

EMS took the 51-year-old and 41-year-old victims to the hospital for treatment, while the other two victims refused medical attention. But a few hours later, police say the 42-year-old man "complained of head pain"; he was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, where he is now in critical condition with severe head trauma.

The NYPD released this footage of the assault:
