Police are on the hunt for a reportedly friendly robber who has chatted up at least two victims in lower Manhattan before choking and robbing them. Does anyone know the whereabouts of the Scranton Strangler?

The man, who identifies himself as "Dante" to victims, has robbed people at least once in Chinatown and once near Union Square. In the first attack, he talked to a 27-year-old man near the corner of Third Ave. and E. 16th Street around 4:30 a.m. on May 30th. He choked him from behind, stole the man's cash and jewelry, and then fled. In the more recent incident on Monday, he befriended a 30-year-old man, again choked him from behind inside the foyer of an apartment building, took his wallet and ran.

Dante has a tattoo of a star under one eye and an unknown tattoo on his neck, and is said to be around 25-years-old. In a surveillance camera image police released of him, he's seen wearing a red cardigan sweater, dark jeans, and a St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap. Wait a minute...St. Louis...choking...could Dante somehow be responsible for the miserable events of Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS?
