The police are hoping the public can help them identify a man wanted for assaulting an Traffic Enforcement Agent near Union Square earlier this month.

According to the NYPD, at around 2:06 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, the traffic officer was sitting in his marked NYPD vehicle in front of 35 East 13th Street when a man started cursing at him. Then, police say, the man "walked over to the police vehicle, attempted to grab the agent's shield and then spat on him. The agent then exited his vehicle and the suspect punched the agent in the face. The suspect fled into a nearby club and exited through a rear door."

Here's video of the suspect, who is described as a light skinned male about 5'8" tall.
