The world is a never ending nightmare of bad news, so how about something nice before heading into the weekend? The NYPD rescued a German Shepherd swimming around in Gravesend Bay this morning, and even managed to reunite him with his owner. Aww.
Police say that they responded to a 911 call about a dog swimming in Gravesend Bay at about 6:30 a.m. The dog, a one-year-old named Chase (aww), was rescued by Scuba Unit police who arrived on the scene.
An NYPD spokesman told the Daily News that when officers first encountered Chase he "wasn't a happy dog," but after drinking some water and going to bathroom he was much more cooperative. And who wouldn't be, honestly? Chase was then reunited with his owner, Francisco Vasquez, who told the paper that Chase loves the water. Aww.
