A 15-year-old boy who was allegedly carrying a gun was shot in the torso by police officers in Brooklyn yesterday afternoon, according to authorities. He was treated at a nearby hospital and is reportedly expected to survive.
The NYPD says two officers were called to Osborn Street and Blake Ave near the Brownsville Houses in Brownsville at around 3:30 p.m. yesterday, after a witness alerted them to the allegedly armed, unidentified teen. When they arrived, the teen fled and officers say they fired shots, striking the teen in the chest and abdomen, according to the Post. "I was watching TV, and then all of a sudden, I heard something go ‘Pop! Pop! Pop! Pow!’” witness Michelle Sancho, 44, told the Daily News. “And then we heard the cops coming, and we said, ‘Somebody got shot again.’”
The teen was transported to Kings County Hospital, where authorities say he was listed in serious but stable condition; officers say they recovered the teen's handgun at the scene.
