Police are looking for a man who they say robbed an 8-year-old girl at knifepoint in Bed-Stuy early Saturday morning.

According to an NYPD release, a man entered the victim's apartment at around 2 a.m., walked into her bedroom and held a knife to her throat, demanding money. Police say the girl gave her assailant an undisclosed amount of cash before he fled. No one was injured in the encounter.

The suspect is described as 5'11" tall and weighing 175 pounds. Anyone with information of the robbery is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS, or to submit a tip on the Crime Stoppers website, or by texting it to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All tips are confidential.

[UPDATE] Police now say that the initial suspect, 24-year-old Malcolm Walker Gotti, "was not present when the crime took place." The investigation is ongoing.
