Some charmer has been distributing fliers bearing a swastika above the word "Uber" around Williamsburg, in an apparent effort to connect the popular taxi service to anti-Semitism.

A member of the Williamsburg Shomrim patrolling the area near Bedford Avenue at Williamsburg Street first discovered the fliers around 9 p.m. yesterday. The NYPD is investigating the source of the hateful leaflets, and surveillance footage from the area has been collected for review, JPUpdates reports.

Uber, whose logo was co-opted for the flier, is not pleased to be associated with the incident.
"Uber condemns this disgusting act of hatred and calls on the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force to aggressively investigate this despicable crime," said Uber's New York General Manager Josh Mohrer in a statement. [Via DNAinfo]
