Police discovered the decomposed body

of a woman in the attic of the home of a Queens man who committed suicide a few weeks ago. The body of 32-year-old Devendra Autar was found on July 20 in his Richmond Hill home, hanging from a pullup bar. He left with it a cryptic suicide note reading: “I’m going to go to hell for what I did.” Then yesterday, the Autar's brother noticed a pungent odor in the home as he was packing up his things, and found the body wrapped in plastic inside a plastic container.

Autar's brother, Devchand Autar, is a nine-year NYPD vet assigned to the 111th Precinct in Bayside; sources say Autar was not married, and his cop brother didn't know if he had a girlfriend. Cops haven't identified the body yet, but based on how much she had decomposed, they believe she died around the same time as Autar. Neighbors noted that while Autar had been friendly in the past, he had become more reclusive in the weeks before his death: “We would wave at each other, but lately he just stopped waving. No acknowledgment, no nothing,” neighbor David Singh told the Post.
