Cops in the Bronx got a break last night after a 16-year-old chose to shoot a 19-year-old man multiple times early this morning directly outside of a police precinct. The shots were fired just after 1:25 a.m., according to the NYPD, and the perp was nabbed soon after.

To be fair, the shots were fired across the street from the 46th Precinct, not in the doorway, but still. After an officer heard gunshots from the precinct's vestibule he went outside and saw a man on the ground and the shooter running away. The allegedly criminal kid, whose name has not been released yet, was quickly apprehended by other cops and a .38 caliber revolver was found nearby. Charges against him are pending.

The victim, who was shot multiple times in the torso according to the FDNY, was taken to St. Barnabus Hospital where he is listed as in critical but stable condition. Sources tell the News the shooter "may have had an ongoing beef" with the victim.
