Police arrested Daniel Nieto, 32, in East Brunswick, New Jersey yesterday on suspicion of raping a 7-year-old girl in Staten Island on August 6th.
Police say that at around 2:45 a.m. that morning, Nieto entered a Port Richmond home through a back door, crept into the girl's bedroom, and sexually assaulted her.
He fled and officers arrested him on a trespassing charge, but he was released before the rape allegations came to light.
Charges are pending against Nieto and he is being extradited to Staten Island.
