After releasing surveillance images and video, the NYPD announced it arrested a man accused of trying to rape a Manhattan woman in an apartment building vestibule. He reportedly has a lengthy arrest record.
On Saturday morning, at 3:25 a.m., police say a 25-year-old woman was followed her building and tried to rape her. The victim was able to fight him off. The Stuyvesant Town Tenants Association said that the incident occurred in one of its buildings (the police only described the location as "Gramercy"), and soon police released a video showing the suspect exposing himself to the victim.
Dominique Brown, 20, was charged with rape, burglary and sex abuse. According to the Post, "Brown has 19 prior arrests on his record, including sex abuse from a 2008 case, police sources said. Nine of his prior arrests were sealed."
