The police say that DNA of a homeless man matches DNA found at the scene of a terrible crime from this past summer. Reggie Owen, a 27 year-old ex-con, was arrested for raping an 88 year-old woman who had returned to her Chinatown apartment at 10AM. Police say that Owen and an accomplice had tried to break into her apartment earlier, but hid in it as she approached; the woman noticed that the front door had been kicked in, but "decided not to call the police after consulting with a neighbor," only to be attacked. And in a grim new detail, apparently Owen drank Carnation Instant Breakfast and hung out in the apartment for a while, as well as raping and robbing the woman.
Police are still looking for Owen's accomplice.
