Police have arrested a man who they say fatally stabbed another man with an ice pick in Fordham Heights on Independence Day.
Officers caught up to Rucheane Grey, 45, in the Bronx on Thursday night at around 10 p.m. He is accused of stabbing a man named Robin Wilson, 51, in the back of the head on Webster Avenue near East 189th Street at around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday. The Daily News reports that Grey is accused of using an ice pick to carry out the grisly deed, and that the attack occurred after Wilson accused Grey of selling him a broken watch.
Wilson was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he remained until dying early this morning, according to the News.
Grey, a Harlem resident, is charged with murder, manslaughter, and weapon possession.
He served 11 months in prison in the early 2010s for possession of stolen property, state records show. Shortly after his release, he was arrested on suspicion of attacking a man with an ice pick following an argument, the News reports. The disposition of that case is unclear.
Attorney information for Grey was not immediately available, as he has not yet been arraigned.
