Police have made an arrest in a Wednesday night shooting that left three people, including a 9-year-old boy, injured. WABC 7 reports, "Police say 19-year-old Gilberto Vicente was charged with assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon in the Wednesday night gunfire on Powell Street in Brownsville."

Around 7:20 p.m., Vicente allegedly fired at a 19-year-old man who was his target, hitting him in the head. A 9-year-old and his 37-year-old father were both shot in the leg. The Daily News had reported the shooting was gang-related—"The shooter is believed to be a member of a local street crew, the Hood Starz, gunning for the teen victim, a member of the rival Wave Gang."

Community Advocate Tony Herbert told WPIX, "As I stand here looking at the aftermath of this craziness, just one day of having visited the Bronx at the scene of a 2yr old and 5yr old shot by a young male. I shake my head in total disbelief and outrage, that our officials haven't rallied to call for a special task force to review and work with the leaders on the ground to strategize on stomping out this genocide."
