Authorities arrested a man accused of trying to kidnap a 12-year-old girl from a Queens supermarket parking lot.
Police say that Thursday, August 31st, the girl and her mother were walking in the parking lot of the Queens Village Key Food at 213-22 Jamaica Avenue when a man, who police identified as Vladimir Suero, approached them, grabbed the girl's arm and yelled "You are coming with me!" in Spanish.
The mother grabbed onto her daughter and the suspect fled, but the girl and her mother filed a police report, describing the suspect and his distinctive tattoos—a red cross on his forehead and a Playboy bunny insignia on his neck.
Facial recognition technology assisted in the arrest, according to the Daily News, which reports: "A day later, Suero got a desk appearance in an unrelated petit larceny case, and that bust helped investigators find him after a sketch and photo of him were released over the weekend."
Suero, a 38-year-old Brooklyn resident, was charged with kidnapping, acting in a manner injurious to a child, and harassment.
