Former Giants star Plaxico Burress swears he will return to the NFL after he is released from prison, and insists "it will be like I never left." During his first interview since being sentenced to two years in prison for shooting himself in the leg with an unlicensed handgun, the wide receiver stated: "Being in here I have time to think about how I want to be seen when I get out. I want to be better."

In an interview filmed in the visiting room at the Oneida Correction Facility upstate, Burress admitted that carrying a loaded weapon to a club was a "selfish decision" and a "lapse of judgment for a quick second." According to the Daily News, he noted: "I had my home broken into twice ... When things like that happen, it takes your peace of mind away. It scares you a little bit and you say to yourself, 'I don't want to be in that situation.'"

Burress has said he's been preparing for his release in July 2011 by working out in jail, though he said the gym at the Oneida Correction Facility is "not an L.A. Fitness or a Bally's or anything like that."
