Earlier today, a Spirit Airlines flight from LaGuardia Airport to Fort Lauderdale was held because of an incident with a passenger. My Fox NY reports, "The Port Authority says the person was removed from the plane after making a remark to another passenger that was perceived as a threat." Now it seems that it's also related to... cellphone usage.
Spirit Airlines told NBC New York, "A customer would not comply with instructions to turn off his cell phone and made a threat to the flight crew." So, Alec Baldwin did get special treatment—as in, not getting arrested for his plane hijinks?
The suspect, reportedly a 30-year-old male from upstate, was "charged with filing a false report and making a terroristic threat." Oh, and his fellow passengers had to de-plane and their baggage was re-screened. The 10:50 a.m. flight did eventually take off.
