<p>In the foreground is a Landfill Gas Extraction Well, which collects gas from the mound and sends it through a header pipe to the Landfill Gas Recovery Plant for processing pipeline quality natural gas (i.e. sold to National Grid). NYC makes approximately $12 million in revenue annually from the sale of natural gas.</p>
