<p>Tishman Speyer purchased the iconic MetLife (formerly Pan Am) Building in 2005 for $1.72 billion.</p>



<p>Tishman Speyer <a href="http://gothamist.com/2006/10/17/stuytown_sold_t.php">purchased the 110-building complex for $5.4 billion in 2006</a>.</p>


<p>Tishman assumed control of the Chrysler Building in 1998, by <a href="http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9C02E3D7103BF934A15752C0A96E958260">buying out the $250 million mortgage</a> (previous owners, a group of banks, had foreclosed).</p>
